Happy Birthday Kansas

Happy 151st Birthday To The Great Sunflower State!

We celebrated Kansas Day by choosing a famous Kansan to research.  Students located the following pieces of information through a variety of websites:  dates of life, hometown, most noted accomplishment, and two interesting facts about the Kansan's life.  Here's a sampling of who we learned more about...Bob Dole, Nancy Kassebaum, Alf Landon, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Emmett Kelly, Walter Chrysler, James Naismith and Amelia Earhart just to name a few!  We culminated our Kansas study by sharing our research and enjoying a piece of sunflower cake and a handful of sunflower seeds. We're so proud to be a part of this great state!
