Data, Data, Data

Data, Data, Data...
This week we've been gathering data, organizing data, displaying data in tables, charts, and graphs, and learning about these three words...
RANGE, MEDIAN, MODE
Check these pictures out as we organize data from playing cards by sequencing them from smallest to largest and then work to find the median.

We used Uno Cards, Phase One Cards, Hello Kitty, and Duck Dynasty Cards.  Now it's time to grab your own favorite kind and get to work.  Stretch your thinking...find the RANGE (Difference Between The Highest and Lowest Data) and the MODE (The One That Occurs Most Often).

Happy, Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day To You...
Thank you to our favorite moms and dads for another great classroom party to celebrate Valentine's Day.  We enjoyed some spectacular treats, played a fun game of Bingo, and enjoyed opening valentines from our friends.  Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to making this a day to remember!
Love seeing your creativity in valentine boxes too!
Enjoy these party pictures...

Happy 153rd Birthday Kansas!

In Honor of Our Great State's 153rd Birthday, Meet Our Famous Kansans...
This was our very first research project completed in class.  We used the Kansas Historical Society website (kshs.org) to gather our research on our famous Kansans.  Then we organized our findings into our graphic organizer and put it all together into a final written paragraph.  Our presentations allowed us to 'become' our famous Kansan, if only for the day.  :)
