Spring Has Sprung (Finally!)

Spring Has Sprung...
What better way to welcome Spring than with an afternoon visit from the Bookmobile, a new book, and a bunch of bodies on a warm slab of concrete under the bright sun.
Oh Spring, we've been waiting for you!

Elmont Winter Program

 Winter Program
These second grade friends looked SO wonderful for our annual Winter Program.  It's one of my favorite days throughout the year.  The weeks of practice and rehearsal, the anticipation of the evening, and then when all the hard work pays off that night!
It can't be beat!  Enjoy the following pictures...these beauties really are a few of my favorite things!  :)

Book Fair Fun

Book Fair Fun
Scholastic Book Fair
I love the Book Fair.  Our library transforms into a shopping mall of some of my favorite things...children's books!  :)  We enjoyed book shopping, Family Night, and the extra minutes we spent reading during the Book Fair.  We ended the week with a drawing from our reading tickets.

Hats On Day

'Hats On' Day
We showed our support for children battling cancer by wearing our favorite hat to school today.  While we only have 24 students in class, we managed to raise $42.00 to help the cause.  Thank you for your generous donations and for helping to raise our awareness of childhood cancer.
There are some great hat choices in there, friends!  Love that some of us paid more than our dollar donation and that some of us paid our dollar even though we chose not to wear the hat.  I'm so proud of your generous donations and for realizing that this day was about so much more than just the hat!  Thanks, second grade friends...

Fire Station Fun

Fire Station Fun
Fire Station Number Five
We enjoyed our visit at Fire Station #5.  We toured the inside of the station, looked at all of the equipment on the truck, watched a firefighter put on his gear, and even got to spray water out of the hose.  The weather was beautiful and our parent turnout wonderful!  Thanks for sharing in our field trip fun!  Enjoy the following pictures from our morning...

We all got the chance to spray the hose!

Mrs. Selbach's Group Of 24...
This is us...all 48 of us!  In a group this big, you know there are some future firefighters among us!  :)
