Sensational Symmetry

Symmetry 

The second graders played a game of 'Match Mine' to reinforce the concept of symmetry.  Students worked with horizontal, vertical, and multiple lines of symmetry.  Students worked in pairs. One was the Builder and the other was the Copycat.  Piece by piece, they built geometric designs with pattern blocks.  Enjoy these photos below!  :)

The students worked to build the cube, rectangular prism, and the square pyramid out of toothpicks and gumdrops as part of our math study on geometric solid figures.  Our classroom smelled of sweetness as we worked on our geometric constructions.
